Be Empowered. Be Loved. Be Supported.

About the "Discover Your Shakti" Series

The Discover Your Shakti Series was developed by Carrie Hura and Erin Moss with the intention of reaching out and bringing women together to support, love, and empower each other while also deepening their sense of Self.

Women hold so many responsibilities and roles. We are sisters, mothers, caretakers, nurturers, providers. We give, we give, and we give. This series is a great reminder that it is acceptable to include your Self in that giving. Let this series be a gift to yourself and allow yourself to dive deep into your knowing, your wanting, your needing. Allow yourself to be the recipient of your own love.

Please wear loose, comfortable attire, as there will be gentle movement and meditation in each class. You may bring a bottle of water, a yoga mat, and any other yoga props that you might need, though props and mats are available at the studio.

Classes are structured to welcome beginners and advanced yoga practitioners alike.

Each class includes journaling, meditation, connecting with each other, yoga, and a unique learning experience.

Because it is our intention to create a close circle where women have a chance to get to know not only themselves, but each other, we are opening the sessions to 15 women only.

About Your Guides

Carrie has been in the complementary healing arts as a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist and Reiki practitioner for over 15 years. Her first in-person yoga teacher taught with humor and Mudita (Joy), so she learned early that even though the study of yoga is serious, you don't have to be inflexible.

She studied Massage Therapy at Irene's Myomassology Institute in Southfield, MI. She did her 200 hour training at Rising Sun Yoga, now Yoga 4 Peace, in Southgate, MI. Meditation Teacher Training and now the Seminary Program, through The Temple of Kriva Yoga in Chicago, IL. Her 500 hour Therapeutic training was at Ananda Seva in Santa Rosa, CA. She is also trained in Yoga of the Heart, Street Yoga, and Trauma Sensitive Yoga.

She enjoys the therapeutic side of yoga and it is always her goal to have her students leave class feeling better than when they arrived. She strongly believes that you should always honor your body, honor your edge, and honor your limits and that you should always make your practice yours.
